Miami Beach, FL, April 5, 2010 - InnoVida is pleased to announce that the School of Engineering at Florida International University has completed a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study of an InnoVida house built with our Fiber Composite Panel (FCP) system. The LCA was performed using energy simulation software, EnergyPlus, to analyze the energy consumption of a 1,200 square foot InnoVida house and a benchmark home built with conventional materials. The study demonstrated that InnoVida FCPs allow for greater energy efficiency and reduced global warmth potential during the occupancy of the house. The LCA concluded a home built in Florida with InnoVida Fiber Composite Panels can achieve a heating and cooling load reduction of 61%
The Life Cycle Assessment is the investigation and evaluation of the environmental impacts of a product caused or necessitated by its existence, from its design through to production and implementation.

About the Life Cycle Assessment Study
The School of Engineering and Computing at Florida International University used energy simulation software to analyze the environmental impacts of InnoVida house versus a traditional house.
The InnoVida house and the benchmark comparison house shared the exact design. However the exterior and interior walls and roof utilized different construction materials. The InnoVida house used InnoVida Fiber Composite Panels; while the benchmark house used concrete masonry walls, wood framing for interior walls, and wood trusses with batt insulation for the roof.
The LCA analyzed the global warming impact. The study showed that based on the scope of the study the CO2 emissions of the InnoVida house are about 41% less during manufacturing, 30% less during construction (electricity consumption only) and 61% less during occupancy (one year electricity only) than the benchmark house.
This study demonstrated that the InnoVida Fiber Composite Panels produced greater energy efficiency for the InnoVida house as compared to the benchmark house. The InnoVida house achieved a 61% energy consumption reduction for the sensible loads produced by the solar radiation, exterior air temperature and the weather in general.

The LCA study was conducted by Dr. Yong Tao, Professor of Mechanical and Materials Engineering and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Undergraduate Studies, Dr. Yimin Zhu, Assistant Professor in the School of Construction Management, and their team of engineers.
About InnoVida
InnoVida is a global corporation with current operations in the USA, Germany, Middle East, Africa, India, China and South America. InnoVida is dedicated to the design, development, manufacturing, and installation of every type of residential and commercial building.
InnoVida manufactures building solutions that bridge the gap between energy efficiency, affordability and high quality. Using its proprietary technology we manufacture Fiber Composite Panels (FCP) which are used to build residential, commercial, government, military, globally relevant structures without the use of cement, steel or wood and with significant savings in cost to build, time to build and energy cost to operate. InnoVida is different because it addresses, in a totally new way, both key components of the built environment: what the structural material is made of, and how the materials come together during construction.
