Romero Britto Pyramid Project

On October 30, 2007, a 45 foot pyramid was unveiled in Hyde Park, London as a tribute to the Pyramids of Giza, the last remaining of the Ancient Seven Wonders of the World. Located at historic Speakers’ Corner, this is the first time the Royal Parks Service has permitted an art installation of such proportion to be placed in Hyde Park.
The pyramid is constructed from the same state-of-the-art composite materials that InnoVida uses in their residential and commercial construction projects. The InnoVida Panels can withstand winds up to 300km/h, are waterproof, heat resistant up to 1200 degrees Celsius, and can handle loads in excess of 50 tons per square meter! InnoVida Panels are extremely lightweight due to the combination of materials that include expanded polyurethane (PU), glassfibre, epoxies and resins all developed in-house by InnoVida. The pyramid’s 584m² surface is made up of 92 InnoVida Panels weighing only three tons, and took less than 6 days to construct.
In addition to the in Hyde Park sculpture, a 25ft replica pyramid is at The O2's Tutankhamen exhibition, and eight smaller pyramids (8ft) will also be on view around the city.
